....I bet he hasn't received as much inquiry about his sermons as you had about your music. You're right. His issues are ridiculous (R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S).

That's just weird. He doesn't want you to teach original music, exhort over the mic, etc. Unless you're giving dates for recordings and cd release parties, I don't see how what you're describing is self-promotion.

Don't be dismayed. Some pastors/preachers are intimidated by the influence of music departments.

He's basically telling you to stay in the pocket, so HE can jam--joy
