I'm in an analogous season at my church as it relates to preaching. And I LOVE preaching. But right now....It's my season to preach out and so doing maintains peace.

I am gifted and anointed, regardless of the venue in which I make the public proclamation.

And no man/woman or group of men/women can stand between what God intends to do with the gift God has placed in you.

I will say publicly that my off-site proclamation has become more powerful than ever in recent months. And the very people who thought they were keeping me from preaching can't understand where these opportunities keep coming from. (Short answer: They ain't the source.)

And, yes, I've been through it musically, too. In fact...I'm MOM at a church, where the former MOM (10 years ago) refused to promote me from "musician" to Asst. MOM. (And she wanted to tell me what songs I could teach the choir...and a whole bunch of other stuff...)

Her foolishness actually propelled me into a whole other dimension. I ended up making my gifts available...Ended up with a full-ride to seminary...and now I'm the MOM....so...yeah...decreasing is a certain way to ensure increase....in the Kingdom.
