LOL - One of the other directors usually gets confused on that song so we keep eye contact - this other one never had that problem during rehearsal so I wasn't monitoring her that closely.

I mentioned it at rehearsal anmd she said claimed she says she did it intentionally. I'm just a hired gun for now but I see I have to assert myself a lil more - during my short stay there so far - I can see how the leadership may be causing confusion, tension and ill feelings.

I suspect this particular elder lady / directress / song teacher / mother hen / naggin hen is trying to exert her authority over me....lol*

My first meeting / audition was prior to their rehearsal. Come rehearsal time - their musician shows up to play - but the pastor asked him to come to his office. (I knew before hand they wanted to get rid of him) . It was at that time she asked me to play. There's no way I'm gonna be sittin on the organ when this other guy comes back from his meeting - for all I knew thge pastor was going to let him do the rehearsal as scheduled.

Watching her operate - I suspect she took that as defiance of sorts. LOL they called me while I was at the laundry - so I went back.

Their main complaint with the other musician is that he 'went' off on them a few times - I would pay him for lessons - very tasteful musician.

I shared with the pastor that if he had to witness what I saw during my audition - there's NO WATY he could sit there without losing it.

Our other disagreement - during erehearsal the choir was learning Total Praise - which I already knew - Elder lady INSISTED we not do the 'Amens' at the end of song. Her Logic - Lord knows.

I just found out she's new there as well - "Discipliner without relationship breeds resentment - she's too critical of the choir members to only have been there a couple of months. She had the choir walking around the sanctuiary binding satan about 7 times - inspired by the walls of jericho story. The looks on many faces was like WTH?

I'd like to help them grow and then help them find another musician.

They're good people though - we just need to chat.
