Here is a tip, there aren't any real cheap hotels in walking distance becase the Omni Shoreham is just a few blocksfrom the White House so NOTHING is cheap in that area. However, the red line metro is your friend. There are plenty inexpensive hotels in MD that are red line excessible, including Motel 6 and Holiday Inn Express. Check for Silver Spring locations that fit within your budget and make sure that the hotel is close to the red line (SILVER SPRING METRO STATION). I will be there all week,I am staying in the Omni if I can help you further e-mail me I will help you any way I can.
