Then, remove the 2 in the tank of the console, and the one under the ciggy tray. Then, pull hard on the front of the console -- snap - up it will come. Oh - take off the shift knob first ;-) Then, pull the console up and forward, away from the trunk and fuel levers. You can push it sideways enough to make the change. My 99 6 spd had worn boots, both of them. So, I would recommend changing those while there. Mark
