I found this piece in the Oxford Journals - you may have it already - I am trying to find out more about a tavern in Belfast early 1800s called the Mill for Grinding Old People Young
something about the "ancient mill," the process
of "grinding," and the "old Indies";'together
with anything else you may know about what is
referred to in the following advertisement from a
paper of this date: —
" Now open — Sundays inclusive.
Mill which was erected for grinding Old People
Young nearly 200 years back, and which has been entirely renovated and redecorated regardless of expense. Old Ladies are requested to come and be Ground Young, for which there is no charge made.
" Please Copy the Address. Clay Hall Tavern and
Pleasure Grounds, back of the East London Water Works,
Old Ford, five minutes walk from the Bow Station," &c.
TALLBOYS.
