Posted by Patricia Walker on 26/11/2006, 4:00 pm Details known so far: Great Grandad shown as Henry Walker, Publican, Address 36 St Leonard's Road Poplar. Grandad was Frederick Thomas Walker and Nanny was Malvena Walker (nee Summons). I know they were running a pub around 1946 when Grandad died which is no longer there under the same name. It was a Watney's pub called something like: The London, Chatham, and Dover Railway Tavern and I am told it was a holder of the Guinness Book of Records Longest Pub Name in the World title at some stage. I'm trying to find/substantiate details on my grandparents who run at least 1 London Pub in the 1930s/40s or maybe even earlier as my Great Grandad is shown as a 'Publican@ in the 1901 Census.
