42-44 George St.
I am a decendant of a former owner(Cornealia Hooker dau. of Mary, who inherited it (1831/2), after the death of her father William Day (St.Albans).I am unclear when the Inn's name changed from Tingries to Cross Keys. I am trying to gather as much info as possible on the Inn.The back of the Inn building was a bleach house. Where I believe Cornelia Hooker met her husband, William Young. On the property which is now Marks and Spencer, was also a warehouse and cottages. One of the cottages was occupied by Samuel Young (I have made no connection to family yet). An old sketch or like would be awesome but I realize thats a bit of wishful thinking.I have early 1900's photos of the intersection on George St. It gives me no clue to the messuage that the Inn was on.I would greatly appreciate any help that can be thrown my way. Thank-You in advance for your time and efforts
