Darleys produced a booklet in about 1938 but apart from saying that there had been brewing on the site for over a hundred years before, there is no indication of the previous owner. The booklet does have pictures of some of the pubs, including the White Hart, Thorne, a pub that was shown in the episode of "Who do you think you are?" featuring Lesley Garrett.
