I'm interested in any information on the Lord Stowell Inn, 7, Nelson Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, St Andrew's Parish, Northumberland.
I'm specifically interested in information on the landlord in 1861, William Wilson, such as when he became landlord. When he was married in 1856 he gave his occupation as a surveyor. His wife, Elizabeth, was a cousin of mine. Both William and Elizabeth died before the 1871 Census.
They had four children, Eliza, Mary Alice, Isabella and William.
I know that in 1881 the landlord was a Thomas Davison. I also believe that it was still there until 1969, when it was owned by Scottish and Newcastle Breweries, but that it was demolished as part of the Eldon Square Shopping Centre re-development.
