I'm interested in any information, stories or photographs concerning The Kent Arms, 73, Kent Street, Grimsby, and it's former Licensee, Richard George Dellow. He was the landlord from (at least) 1911 until (at least) 1937 (from census and BT phone books.)
The Kent Arms still exists today, but in 1922 in was next door to the Tower Cinema and it had the phone number Grimsby 4023.
Richard George Dellow was born in Gateshead in 1873, but he spent his childhood in South East London where his father was a Fleet Street Newspaper Editor. Although his uncle was a Kentish Town landlord, Richard initially followed his father and became a journalist. He worked in Worksop for some time before marrying Caroline Maud Osborn, in 1898, and settling in Grimsby.
They also had a house on Dudley Street, Grimsby, called Clevedon.
