John Eccles a family relation was publican at SHC pub in Ashton New Road in Greater Manchester (formerly Clayton in Lancashire)on 1881 Census and in 1863 Slaters Manchester Directory. I would like to know more about the pub at this time and how long he might have been publican. (He was born in 1817). By 1871 Census he had moved to Chorley as Innkeeper of the Red Lion Inn.
