There is an online street and household directory for Stockport at this link.

In 1902 it lists the Hope Thomas W as the publican of 3 Millgate Street.
In 1907 it is listed as Rydings Jas, 3 Golden Ball.
In 1910 it is listed as Rydings Jas, 3 Market House
This is where I think it was/is.

Here is a link to a post from the 1851 census.
My interest is that my wifes grandmother "E Thomas" listed "3 millgate" as her address in 1923.
