An usual request, but maybe some of the more knowledgeable folk on here can help.
My area of interest is studying the influence and impact of Hawaiian / Polynesian / South Seas style and culture on the UK in the 20th century. This is often manifested in restaurants, Bars and clubs with a peak around 1955-1965.
I'm interested in finding out more about these places - any details at all.
Some Bars and Pubs I've heard of. And I'm sure there are (were) many more:
The Half Moon Inn (Fore Street, Tiverton, Devon)
The Castaways (Bradford Street, Birmingham)
The Beachcomber (Mayfair Hotel, London)
The Patio (Sheraton Skyline, Heathrow)
Beachcomber (Shanklin Hotel, Shanklin, Isle of Wight)
Bars in Plaza and Grande Hotels, Tynemouth
Any information you can provide or any pointers to other sources of information would be very greatly received.
Many thanks,
Andrew
