Around 1900 my grandmother, Mary Hilton and her husband Henry, ran a beer room in George Street,Brighton which become the Queens Arms. By 1911 she was the landlady of the Evening Star, in Surrey Street. Mary 'adopted' the conjoined twins, Daisy and Violet Hilton who went on to tour the vaudeville circuit in America in the 1920's & 1930's. The twins would have been known to the regulars at the pubs and I am interesting in any information about the pubs and the Hilton family in Brighton.
