Greetings from Christchurch, New Zealand.
Hi,
I am starting on my family history/genealogy and would like information on the Red Lion, there may have been two pubs of this name in Stratford-on-Avon. The one I am interested in was managed/owned by Cecil JACKSON,[I believe this to be the surname but it could also be BRAYNE or some other name].
Cecil was also, according to family members, the mayor of Stratford-on-Avon. The time frame is is not known by family members here in New Zealand.
If any information is known about the Red Lion or JACKSON, BRAYNE, SHEPHERD families, I would love to hear from you, as I would like to have a 'big picture' of what my ancestor's lives would have been like, rather than just names, dates etc.
Thanks for your time in reading this and look forward to hearing from anyone who may also have other ideas to pass on.
Helen
