In amongst the many we looked at a few weeks back, we liked the look of 1294. Generally in fine condition throughout, and I only turned it down because it had a particularly bad case of that curious off-beat tickover and diesel-knock that so many of the Ulsterbus Tigers seem to suffer from but regular Tigers don't.
I believe it's all down to using very 'clean' fuel and setting fuel pumps up either wrongly, or to run far leaner than they were ever originally designed to.
Regular filling station fuel, plus a bit of pump tinkering would I believe settle things down, and 1294 certainly pulled ok around the depot 'circuit'.
We didn't much rate many of the others, and 462/468 were too scruffy inside for me. 462 is marked on Translink's files as engine oil leak, 1141 had 2nd gear missing - probably something very simple, and 1247 is shown as no reverse gear.
