I think the reason for the resurrection of 1184 is that she was earmarked to be a tow truck, she passed a MOT with that in mind and for some reason her conversion was delayed. With a perfectly good machine with a PSV and MOT in the yard it was decided to use her in service as she was better than any of her successors, hence her use. How long it will last, I have no idea.
