Only 1 had the pleasure of it before it was requisitioned by Ballymena! Even then he probably didnt notice it wasn't his usual 419.
I'm not a fan of these buses at all. They are very claustrophobic inside with the quantity of seats chaotically shoe-horned into them. Virtually every other bus until them had an open and organised interior. Personally, I would have gone for some 53 seat SchoolRuns with Gemini type seats and belts and 45 seater seat belted Solars.
Regarding the numbers, Derry was one of the first Ulsterbus depots to use DMD's in any great numbers back in 1997 when the Ultra's started arriving. It was just a long standing procedure that the base number ended in a "1" whereas every other dept started at "0". It was something that never changed in the years between.
