My motive, put simply, is that I have been very fortunate and had a good life and would like to leave something which I consider worthwhile to the next generation.
I accept that I may be mad and I am likely to become extinct in the not too distant future so whether I am right or not, God only knows. But at least I have left something which would not be there if I did not do it.
As the saying goes "it is better to have lived and loved than never to have done so at all". The same theory applies to me and buses.
I want to see Ulsterbuses - and Citybuses - on Irish roads in fifty and hopefully one hundred years hence when most people will not know what a Gardner, 680 or TL11 was but they will still be able to experience the sounds and equipment that to us were normal in our lifetimes.
An impossible dream maybe, and then again, maybe not but at least I tried.
