Watching the VH1 GREATEST 100 of the 80s and narrator explains how TH drummer Chris Frantz came up with the tune. Says he went to a PFunk show where the fans were shouting "Burning down the house" and went home and wrote the song for Talking heads. They included some "Mothership" footage and talked about the rhythm but didn't mention Bernie by name (there was a pic of him in a lineup shown briefly)
