Posted by PFunkJAzz on 12/26/2006, 12:56 pm USA TODAY Tuesday, December 26, 2006 has the obit as their cover story (abvoe-the-fold) with another color close-up headshot and an archive pic of JB in a tux. It continues within main section for 2/3rds of a page. Pic of Brown with youngest child (of his 4th wife), pic of young Brown with processed 'do looking like Atlas and the memorial on his star on the HOLLYWOOD Walk of Fame (I'm heading down there today for some snaps). There are also two sidebar boxes: a) CRITICS GUIDE to The Best of JB and b) Key Events chronology (unfortunately framed around his 20004 arrest pic). Remaining lower third is all ads; no other articles.

LA TIMES 12/26/2006 has two articles starting on front page below-the-fold with a recent color performance head shot. Both continue within the Main section (as opposed to the ENTERTAINMENT section). The main obit takes a full page of text with two archive performance pics and a sidebar box listing his major hits. The second article is "An Appreciation" by Robert Hilburn who dredges up the Elvis comparisons and that rolls over onto a 3rd page for two columns, but the page is not shared with any other articles...just ads (FYI: in journalism publishing that's because you don't want to divert the reader's attention to any other articles).
