Chemotherapy effecting fine motor skills

Does anyone know the effectiveness of FM training following chemotherapy treatment? I have a 59 year old lady who has lost the use of her hands supposedly from chemotherapy effects---her doctor said that her nerve endings had to regenerate and that it would take a loooong time to recover fully. Any ideas on effective treatments?
