Hi! I am in a clinical psychology phD program (just started), and have been having serious doubts. I am thinking of becoming an OT. First of all, I am afraid that a psychologist's level of diagnostic expertise is really not that much greater than that of an OT. It seems that OTs do treatment planning with a lot of different populations, and are capable of a variety of functional assessments even though they do not diagnose. And other than that, I've been finding out that OTs can do research at the master's level, and have teaching and administration possiblities, since there are almost no PhD level OTs.
DOes this make sense? Does anyone out there work with clinical psychologists and can concur with that?
Thanks!
