Travel therapists are expected to already be trained. The travel company does not have their own therapist to train you. A travel company acts as a middle man for a variety of companies. The companies they help to staff specifically want help that can go into a rehab facility and begin working without having to train them. That is why they pay the travel company a lot of money to find a skilled therapist. Otherwise, they would wait until a full time therapist can be hired and train them.

: : Hi,
:
: I'm a Canadian OT, who graduated last May.
: I'm thinking about going to the States to
: work for awhile. So I've started the whole
: process of applying to write the exam and
: all the paperwork. I expect it will take
: about 4 months to complete. I'm just
: wondering how I can tell the "good
: companies" versus the "bad
: companies"..in that I mean which
: companies will provide some training to me
: about how to complete paperwork for Medicare
: and Medicaid? Does anyone know of any
: websites or any companies to be wary of..I
: think I would like to do the Travelling
: thing.
:
: Thanks for all of you help!

: I think a good place to start is:
:
: It is an on-line magazine that covers a
: variety of topics and also has a 'Career
: Center' that lists Company profiles.
:
: Hope this helps!
