Posted by Rick on October 18, 2005, 6:39 pm Sacramento Hosts One Day Gay Christian Conference: Mini-ConnECtion What: Sacramento Mini-ConnECtion When: Saturday, November 19, 2005, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Where: Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1300 “N” Street (across from Who: Two Keynote Speakers: Reverend Anita Cadonau-Huseby and Dr. Nick Warner Reverend Anita Cadonau-Huseby will be speaking in personal terms of how she has lived her life as a Christian lesbian and about the affirmations and blessings she's experienced within the broader Christian Church. Dr. Nick Warner will discuss the passages in the Old and New Testaments, often called "the Clobber Passages," that the religious right has used to beat up gays and lesbians. Two Workshop Presenters: Susan Watson and Dr. Nick Warner Susan Watson will be sharing ideas for facilitating a local group that is enriching for all group members. Dr. Nick Warner will conduct a workshop on a "study of joy, hope and depression based on the book of Philippians." With more than 19 local chapters currently established throughout the United States, ECWR was founded in 1980 and continues to host a four-day annual conference, ConnECtion, each year at various colleges and universities. Evangelicals Concerned (EC) was founded by Dr. Ralph Blair, a New York City psychotherapist, who saw the need for “a fellowship and task force for GLBT Christians and their friends” and to “establish programs in response to local needs and the desires of the local leadership.”
