Hi Everyone,
The land was purchased 2 years ago by a developer named "Meta Housing," and they are planning to build low income apartments on it. I called the Meta Housing office and spoke with the project manager and he said that they were in jeopardy of losing their financing... and that the land would most likely be sold off to an even larger developer (ie the Medici and Orsini people).
In an attempt to save the site I have begun working with the LA conservancy to file an application for making the yard, and nearby an Historic Los Angeles Monument.
I think the subway station, tunnel, and yards would make a fantastic urban park that could educate people about LA's history, while providing a sanctioned space for local muralists to practice their art (grafitti artists have been making large scale murals on the walls for years now).
If anyone has information that could help me with my project, or if you are interested in helping me with it, feel free to contact me via email.
