Sickness=Panic?

Recently, I was sick with a kindey infection, and started taking the medication, Lavaquin. About 24 hrs later, I had one of the worst panic attacks EVER. The medication says it can cause confusion, mood alterations, and nausea. I haven't had an attack in about two years until recently. Do you think it was the medicine, or that my defenses were down because of sickness? Anyone ever had anything like this happen?
