: I have been having a hard time driving
: (especially driving alone) ever since I had
: a panic attack in my car. I tend to get
: very panicky on busy streets and stopping at
: red lights. I feel like I have to escape as
: soon as possible, but I can't because I am
: stuck at a red light surrounded by cars.
: Can anyone relate or have tips on what to do
: when that happens? Thanks.

I wish i knew what to say to magically make it go away while driving. I have that issue as well. the side streets are and have become easier but i haven't been on the highway for over a year. my first panic attack was on the highway so that is probably some of the reason. I got to the point i would not drive at all. Saddest part is that I was a person who enjoyed driving, i loved the freedom feeling, i loved the open highway. city streets and heavy traffic were a simple annoyance. anxiety is vicious but its something that we helped create. and we CAN reverse. Most of all your not alone!!! best of luck to you!!
