Cause of panic attack?

I had my first panic attack while in a water massager in a store about six months ago. I have had mild fear of being confined since. Well, today I had a panic attack at the dentist. I am not afraid of dentist, it had to do with being confined I think. Could my fear of being confined be related to being raped many years ago? I am very confused about why this is starting all of a sudden in my 40's!
