I am not sure about this, but methinks the MonsterBlah 
patent is limited to a one-piece metal part (cap band) with three protruding bands (two thinner, one thicker at the center) and that, in conjunction with the engraved words, Montblablabla, Germany.
That is, I think, the patent.
Resin is injected then and the one-piece 3-band cap stays (so-to-say) inside the cap.
Otherwise, and in my view, it is totally ridiculous, incomprehensible, and therefore, unacceptable, to try to patent any given design, merely based on the number of bands, or trims, or both, (in the present case, around cap bands).
