It is a standard ink-sac style pen and the base has a standard socket. I have my eyes out for a dipless model but haven't found one yet. The Esterbrook base came from my uncle with a Sheaffer desk ball pen. I found the Esterbrook desk pen at an antique store that had just that one pen and an old Carter's Ink bottle. I bought both!
