I've had this Pelikan M200 for 20 plus years now. The topic is ink view windows and partial visibility of the ink supply — this one has that, just behind the section, and I find it to be a useful feature.
More, but OT: Every time I take this pen out, I marvel at what a nice pen it is. When I bought it, I didn't know a gold nib from a steel nib from a plated nib, and had never heard of custom nib modification. This nib is plated, writes a perfect, fine line, and is a first time every time writer. In fact, I can leave the cap off for over an hour and the pen puts down ink immediately without priming (any ink — it's not picky). Other features I like about this pen are the piston-fill mechanism, nib unit unscrews, no section trim, domed cap top, lightweight, balanced in look and feel, and it's handsome.
Besides flushing it periodically, the only maintenance I've had to do is add a little silicone grease to the piston when it stiffened up about 5 years ago. (I learned that trick through Pentrace.) I was enamored with fountain pens before I got it, but I think this pen ensured my continued use and love of fountain pens. Feeling the wonders of a special little pen this weekend...
