This Sheaffer Deluxe Sentinel is from late 1948 and has the White Dot mounted on the cap above the clip. Sheaffer solved mounting the White Dot on the cap during 1948 leading to two versions of this model. This is the third iteration of the stainless steel cap Sentinel. Similar to the second model introduced in early 1948, it also has a polished stainless steel cap with quartets of lines engraved in the cap at a stagger start from above the gold filled cap band. It is a Vacuum-Fil or Lever-Fill (black only) and comes in the same solid molded colors, green, brown, burgundy, blue and black. It sold for $15.00 with the matching Stratowriter ballpoint for $10.00 and pencil $5.00. Sheaffer offered 16 different 14 karat gold nib grades. It measures 5 1/8 inches long, capped. The barrel on this pen is actually from the Autograph and shows the 2000 or $20.00 imprint.
