To be clear, Parker and CS were buying their celluloids from the same place Kreko and Majestic were buying theirs (Dupont) - so I don't think it was "reproduction" as such. Big buyers might have had exclusive rights over a particular plastic style (vacumatics for example), but they never made their own. In the lower end Parkers, they were using celluloids that many other manufacturers used.
This plastic would have been low-cost - there is no gold or silver flake, no layers of transparent plastic creating a 3D look. Nonetheless, very attractive. Wahl Eversharp used something similar in 2nd gen Dorics and called it "shell" in their catalogs.
