This is a Montblanc 144 Meisterstück Classique cartridge / converter fountain pen c. 1980s. This 5 5/16 inch long pen was the second smallest of the Meisterstück pen line and is made of black plastic with gold plated trim. The cap top ornament is the Montblanc six pointed snow cap symbol. The triple cap band is engraved MONTBLANC - MEISTERSTÜCK. The 14 karat gold nib is stamped 4810, the height of Mont Blanc in meters and the highest mountain in the Alps, below is the Montblanc logo, 14K and MONTBLANC. The washer clip creates a gold plated trim ring on the cap. The section has a gold plated trim ring near the nib and feed and the metal thread piece serves as a gold plated trim ring at the base. There is a gold plated trim ring near the bottom of the barrel. The pen uses Montblanc international type cartridges and converter. Nib grades available were extra fine, fine, medium, broad, double broad, oblique medium, oblique broad and oblique double broad. Matching rollerball pens, ballpoint pens and pencils were made.
