my name is Andrea and I am new to this board. I really enjoy my morning mail with odd photos and beautiful pens.
I thought I would attempt a contribution myself.
I have been working on a Columbus pen from Italy, (my main area of interest)and I had had troubles with the final disassembly of the clear section on the body.
I just could not unscrew it by any means, heat, force, bravery and even stupidity did not help
So, I took a couple of xrays, I thought you may like to take a pick at. From the xrays I was able to determine that the thread is bastard (left handed) and with that I went back with more of the same and as you can see, WE won, it is all apart for restoration.
Best and great week-end Andrea
By the way, this simple classic pen is a joy to write with, a button filler with a small semi flexible, wooded nib and a relatively large ink capacity. It is a fine nib with no scratchiness and a nice bit of feedback. It is a little dry and needs a kind hand on the upstroke, but it is very accurate and easy to use.
