Re: Sheaffer Museum closing
At least some of the exhibits have been moved to the North Lee County Historical Museum. That facility is about 10 blocks from the Sheaffer Pen Museum and does offer some advantages. For one thing, it has funding from the county which seems to be reliable and ongoing. For another, it is open to the public 360 days per year, vs 2 days per week for the Sheaffer Pen Museum.
I had just donated 166 pens from my Targa collection to the Sheaffer Pen Museum when the decision to close the Sheaffer Museum was made. It was a real shock! Fortunately those pens were moved to the North Lee County Historical Society Museum. I have not heard about other exhibits being moved there but I hope that a majority of them were.
