I am posting this in the quest for a solution to a problem that eludes me.
I have recently bought a Pelikan 400 brand new and a 1956 Pelikan 400 nn. The latter is the very early one with push in nib and feader that was produced only in the very first few months.
I am on a quest for he ultimate and final daily driver, I am tired to rotate, I want to be monogamous and a lot of people like Pelikan, and the 400 in particular.
The new pen is all you know about, no problems.
But the older pen has a really flexible nib that is a joy to use, rich and wet, from fine-medium (supposed to be fine but it is a little more than that) to rather broad by little pressure. Just a joy. The pen is too short uncapped for my simian hand, and the capping is weak, only point of contention with the design.
The latter older pen is plagued by an annoying issue. The nib always has ink on the tines, and quite bit. I will clean it but it will reappear. What can I do about this?
Best and thanks, Andrea
