I have a fondness for 'striated' materials that actually surpasses my budget and length of time in the hobby (i.e. I don't own too many examples). There are some pens from smaller brands that do have pens that look a bit similar, certainly a pen or two from Venus, I believe. The difference is almost a parallel to average celluloid and, say, great Italian celluloid: in good order, the Sheaffer pens always have more depth and visual interest.
That said, the Rose Glow is quite unique. That is only lasted 2 years is something to puzzle about: did it not sell well, or did the style of the color/material come as the populace was moving in a different style direction, or both? I don't know, but they did drop it fairly quickly.
Cheers,
Jon
