Earlier this summer I fell in love with a handmade pen that was offered for sale. The pen had already sold, but the penmaker, Jeremy Christian, still had a blank of the same material left and offered to make a similar pen for me.
The gorgeous material is “dyed and stabilized box elder burl, with aluminum and chatoyant black resin.” It has a Celtic cross design in the barrel, with thin metal bands on the cap and on the end of the barrel. He fitted it with a #6 Jowo, Goulet-branded stub. 6 inches long capped, and 5-1/2 inches uncapped, it is big, beautiful, special, unique, comfortable, and simply marvelous.
I love this pen so much! I bought it with the intention of using it for my artsy projects. I haven’t found enough time for that lately, but when I do sit down to play — joy!
My camera is still on the blink, so these are Jeremy’s photos of the pen after it was finished.
