This was about 2006, I had finished producing a series of Parker aircraft models such as the original Duofold, the WWII GEO S. PARKER Spitfire, the P51 "Parker 51" Mustang, Beechcraft "51", etc.
I was a stickler for perfection with these models, the factory just could not get it right. Look at the Montblanc star logo, not even close. They even included the rear cockpit machine guns....Montblanc was not out to shoot down Pelikan or other competitors, I assure you. After a few thousand dollars for repeated proof models I gave up, cancelled the project and gave away all the proof models to some friends.
The Montblanc LVG VI was made about 1918 at end of WWI. It was used as a high altitude observation aircraft but also had a rear cockpit gunner. Following images shows original WWI model, a colored version of original aircraft and then my last proof models which were not bad but not exactly as I wanted them. So, cut the losses and move on.
Story to follow about the lady that was responsible for Montblanc 1920's art and design.
