He passes away in 1954 and this Duofold which he likely received as an award from his employer Metropolitan Life Insurance Co, the pen has his name engraved and gold filled. Long time from seeing daylight I found this tucked away under some papers in a small drawer of his desk in 1960. This was the moment the spark of my fascination with fountain pens began. I sent it to Parker service in Janesville and in a few weeks received it back, polished, new gold filling in his name and restored as new. I use this on occasion and also for special occasions by myself and my son when an important document needs a signature.
This belonged to my step father, he had hardly used this, almost in pristine condition. Knowing I had interest in fouontain pens and my son also started collecting fountain pens and also vintage ballpoint pens...he gave this to my son. My son is 54 years old now and he still has every vintage ballpoint in his collection, including complete sample kits I used in my promotional advertising business.
