I monitored her for a few hours, and she was fine, considering there was only about 1 OZ of actual chocolate on the candy bar. If your dog gets into bakers chocolate or dark chocolate, I would suggest to induce vomiting with salt or hydrogen peroxide, and call your vet immediately. It all depends on the size of the dog, the amount of chocolate, and what kind of chocolate. But you do not want anything bad to happen to your doggies!

: Hi Amy My Husky Lizzie is 6 months old and
: just ate a 3 pound bag of chocolate - The
: vet recommended to give her 1 tablespoon of
: peroxide every 5 minutes for 15 minutes to
: induce vomiting - it worked like a charm -
: Vomitting is a good thing - (at least in
: this case) if she didn't vomit - I would
: have had brought her into the vet so they
: could induce the vomitting. I have to keep
: a watch for the next 12 hours to make sure
: her heart isn't racing, hyper-activity or
: seizures - so make sure you do the same for
: your beagle! and Good Luck!

: Please help me my dog ate 4 giant pieces of
: chocolate and i dont know what to do!!!!!
:HOW DO I TREAT HIM? WHAT DO I DO?

: Hi. Different kinds of chocolate have different kinds of effects for dogs. For example, white chocolate is the least poisonous, and bakers chocolate is the most poisonous. For milk chocolate, figure about 1 oz per lb of the dog and that is how much it would take to be considered poisonous.
