Important question

Everyone knows that Whelans is the spirtual home of all things alternative in Dublin. My question is...are there any alternatives? (everyone needs a change). I've been to a couple of indie clubs in the Temple Bar Music Centre over the last year..but the venue is crap and has no atmosphere. Someone must have some suggestions..I've never been to Frazers, is it any good..someone must know something............please help.
