i haven't skated in about a year. Half because i broke my wrist and it kind of scared me. the other half is because every time i stop and look around at all of the skating sites, the skateparks, and even the products i feel like skating has lost its cool organized underground subculture feel it used to have. it was only a few years ago that it seemed like rollerblading was moving in such a quick and efficiant way that nothing could compete with it. i think that rollerblading has turned into just what people origianlly thought it would be: a fad. a ten year fad, but a fad none the less. this whole thing depresses me and makes me want to quit skating. i'm pissed that this happened. does anybody else feel the same way or is it just me?
