Of course he said that, he doesn't want anyone thinking he really wants to make freak creatures. People would see him on the street and call him 'the freak creature guy', religious nuts and other crazies would be outside his house every day of the year giving him shit until one of them decided the planet was better off without him and put a bullet in his head.
