Republican Elections Influenced by Epidemics

Hospitilitynet.org did a report on the zika virus. The report contained an image of a graph with the most recent epidemics since 2004. Two epidemics stand out- the 2004 SARS, and the 2016 Zika. Both the Bird Flu and Swine Flu are less likely to have had an effect on anything, but I am not questioning anything on Ebola. If you remember, 2004 was the last time that the U.S. had a republican president, and in 2016, we are likely to have another republican president. Pre-Election polls from 2004 show a preference towards the republican, Bush, getting elected, but 2008 and 2012 polls show a preference towards the democratic candidate, Obama. In 2016, most polls lean towards the republican, Trump. This is relevant because in both of the years where republicans were most likely to win, there happened to be major epidemics. There is no confirmed connection between the two, but there has yet to be denial.
