I believe what you are referring to is actually a 1979 Cross Country El-Tigre. Check the serial number, it should start with a 9. These were limited production race and grand touring sleds with longer travel rear suspensions and thicker seats. I have the parts and service data on this sled. They are a collectable. The rarer of the two versions is the 340cc. This was made as a very limited production machine for cross country racing in the 56 horsepower limited class. The 440cc was more common and sold for racing in the open class or just fast touring. It is confusing how the model was labeled because the El-Tigre 6000 series was the liquid cooled Tiger for years. So they just stuck a small 340 decal on the 6000 340cc versions and some of the 6000 440cc sleds may have had 440 on it or not. I have seen it both ways.
