Maybe someone can help me make sense of this. I was engaged for 2 years to a young lady who has a daughter who will be three next week. We recently broke up a few days ago and my devastation is horrible. After two years she has now shut me out completely and the break is not making sense to me. She tells me she loves me and she still wants to be with me but she says she can't. There has been fights in the past that some hurtful words may have been exchanged between the two of us but never physical abuse. The fights were what I saw as part of a relationship. She said she cannot go through this again and for the first time said to me she wasn't happy anymore and the hurtful things she said were to much. Now the first 1.5 years was great and things were perfect but the last 6 month I have been on a downward slid professional which halted a lot of plans. How do you deal with the loss of her and then deal with the idea of not beening able to see this child that I have now been raising and I am the only dad she knows? I want her back terribly and I am told to give her time but that is hurting more because there is no explanation.
